A decade as the engine. A hard burnout. A slower rebuild. Genuai is the company built from that arc, and I am still in the work.
I spent a decade building technology companies. CTO roles at multiple startups. Co-founded a nutrition software company. Helped rebuild a SaaS platform. Launched IoT systems for thousands of buildings. Eight different companies, eight different stacks, one consistent pattern.
I was the engine. Everything routed through me. The companies couldn't scale past my capacity, and I couldn't sustain my capacity past the cortisol that was running it.
Then I burned out. Hard. Not the kind of burnout where you take a weekend off and bounce back. The kind where the engine that ran your life for years just quietly stops working.
For a long time I thought I'd lost my drive. It took me a while to realize what I'd actually lost was the cortisol that had been impersonating drive for most of my adult life.
The quiet that comes after that engine stops isn't depression. It isn't laziness. It's the system rebuilding the substrate that real motivation runs on. Different fuel, different feel.
Months of nervous-system regulation, somatic practice, contemplative study (Kabbalah, Zeland, Hawkins, Jung), parts work. Slow daily practice. Earthing. Long fasts. Voice journals. Sitting with the patterns that had been running me.
Something rebuilt. Not faster. Steadier.
I'm building Genuai now from that steadier place. The work sits where AI, inner work, and the state you are in when you do either one meet. The bet: a person working from a settled nervous system makes qualitatively different work than the same person running on cortisol. The state is the actual product. Everything else is the conveyor.
The course I'm putting together is Built from within. It teaches the tools that gave me the steadier baseline. It is for people doing serious inner work who want practical tools to settle and move forward. Essentially me, twelve months ago.
I also run Aether Domains, a rental operations company. Different surface, same principles: data-informed decisions, lean operations, systems that improve themselves without recruiting cortisol.
